TYLA Structure:
Triad Youth Lacrosse Association is the overall establishment for the Triad's Lacrosse needs.  Established in the late 1990s by a number of individuals in an attempt to promote the game and principals of lacrosse.

TYLA Mission Statement:
TYLA will add value to the quality of life in the Triad by establishing the game of lacrosse as an expanded athletic opportunity for participation, teamwork, and commitment to excellence for all young people, regardless of gender, ethnic origin, size, age, weight, or skill. TYLA will support where and when possible, those players needing financial assistance to play. Everyone who wants to play lacrosse will play.

TYLA is committed to equal participation and to the view that to play the game is great, to win the game is greater, to love the game is the greatest. TYLA regards academic excellence as integral with lacrosse. TYLA has as its long term goal the establishment of lacrosse teams in Triad area schools through building a strong player feeder network.

TYLA's Role

  • Maintain and keep current the TYLA vision and mission
  • As TYLA members, we continue to improve our lacrosse knowledge & program capabilities each season as we learn, share and teach the game based on speed, stick skills, athleticism and teamwork--and not physical intimidation.

  • Seek out and support new clubs to the organization
  • We honor the game by practicing positive coaching, teaching life lessons beyond the playing field and developing a strong community among players, parents, coaches, officials and fans that will last a lifetime.

TYLA Vision:
Our vision is to be a primary recreational source of lacrosse for boys and girls in the Triad Area and to provide the best possible structure for enrollment, participation, training, organization, management and development of young people in the game of lacrosse.

Our philosophy is all players participate equally (i.e. equal playing time) in all games and play on evenly balanced teams based on player skill, experience, size and grade at every age level—U15, U13, U11 & U9—in all TYLA games.
Our coaches are teachers & role models.
TYLA is an inclusive organization that provides a safe, enjoyable, learning experience for all participants; and in an environment not swept up in the pressure filled, win-at-all-cost mania all too common in today's youth sports.
Our goal is for all players, coaches, teams & programs reflect role-model sportsmanship on & off the field while we learn, share and teach the fundamental skills & teamwork required to play the game well.
TYLA provides training, guidance, certification and age-specific rules of play for all participating coaches & officials with a particular focus on ensuring player safety & that our games deliver a positive, fun-filled experience for all involved.
